Board a gondola and make a trip to the little island with a church in the middle of Lake Bled, or just walk through the pristine nature around the lake. Surrounded by mountains and forests and rich with birdlife, this glacial lake is 2.1 km (1.3 mi) long and up to 1.4 km (0.9 mi) wide. Rent a bike and cycle around the lake or play some golf. The lake is also very popular among rowers. Walk up to the medieval castle towering over the north shore for panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding landscape. Several hotels in the area feature swimming pools filled with water coming from thermal springs. 1 January, and it was, bizarrely, t-shirt weather. A stroll along the lakeshore revealed the well-known vistas of the lake's island, with the castle perched high behind it.

The most beautiful lake in the world. The lake is stunning, the water has an amazing emerald color I would look all day. The castle is absolutely worth it even (you can get there by car or walking, but I recommend walking because you can feel the nature). At the top of the castle the view is amazing. The small island in the lake is nothing special but the boat rides that get you to the island are cool! I also recommend to eat the Bled cake because, its tasty and it is sold only in the village of Bled. Something that is questioned many times is if you can swim in the lake and the awnser is yes you can, the water are quite cold but it's very enjoyable. Close to the lake is also a toboggan ride and an adventure park wich are very fun!

Great place to spend an anniversary! Walked 3.7 miles around the lake before, during and after sunset which took less than 2 hours. Highly recommended. Spend 3 nights here!
