Erected to honor those who died in the war, The Russian Chapel features two small towers in the classic Russian style. Built by Russian war prisoners of World War I, the chapel is surrounded by graves of soldiers. You may not be able to enter, but the exterior is worth the visit--consider bringing a camera or some snack for a picnic nearby.   • After all those great hairpin bends (from the north) it was great just to stop off at this interesting place for a short break.  more »
  • The Russian chapel is on the way (road) to top of pass Vršič. Recommended to visit it. Russian prisoners from 1. world built it from wood. The place is beautiful and silent. Tragic history.  more »
  • Its size enhances its impressiveness, although you cannot normally see anything inside. Very nice!
  • Not much to this place really, maybe I missed some historical or cultural difference though. Good spot for a rest if you are hiking to the top.
