Cobblers' Bridge dates from the 13th century and is one of the oldest bridges over the Ljubljanica River. In the Middle Ages, shoemakers took over the original wooden structure from the butchers, who had to relocate their shops due to the stench of raw meat. That wooden bridge was reconstructed many times after floods and fires before a sturdier stone bridge was erected in 1931. Six pairs of pillars, originally intended to support a cover, rise above the balustrades. Notice the two candelabras in the middle of the bridge. Watch for street vendors and performance artists who sometimes occupy the bridge. • Not very exciting architecturally. The views to each bank side are very nice though. A resident busker to entertain as you cross.

  • The river Ljubljanica is really nice, it separates the city but both sides are amazing and plenty of bridges on the river. Tourist ships go on the river, you can buy a ticket. The view is amazing. There are cozy restaurants on both sides, prices are medium, not expensive. You can see the castle in the distance.
  • Really nice, lovely bridge with a wonderful view of the castle. And also the river Ljubljanica winding it's way through Ljubljana. It is beautiful in Autumn, and I cannot imagine how it will looks in the Spring. It is nice for walking and also for enjoying and seating on the bench. Really, really nice.
