Walk across the Art Nouveau Dragon Bridge and admire the four large dragons protecting its corners, symbols from the city's coat-of-arms. Built at the very beginning of the 20th century, it was the city's first reinforced concrete bridge and Slovenia's first bridge paved with asphalt. Floral motifs decorate its arch and railings, while smaller griffins embellish the plinths of its eight bronze candelabras. Notice the dashes of red paint at the dragons' mouths and claws, recent additions by an anonymous enthusiast. • Ljubljana doesn’t have many famous sights but this is perhaps the most iconic. It’s a working bridge so you do have to watch the traffic, and there isn’t much to occupy you once there - five minutes.....  more

  • Welcome to one of the beautiful bridges in Ljubljana, Slovenia. This concrete bridge has four large Dragons guarding the portals on both sides of the bridge. These are most imposing metal sculptures and well photographed. A little scarry experience I would say. I've never been photo bombed by a Dragon!
  • Very obvious bridge, you can agree on a meeting here: let's meet at the dragon bridge, oh yes, quit easy. Down from the railway station, at the shore, some restaurants and café around. Best place.
