  • On Smarna gora I ate the most lousy Ričet in life .. congratulations! If you cook it there, tell the chef to work a little harder on the spices, or change the inn that delivers that crap to you.

  • Quite a physical endurance test for a naive climber, but a rewarding experience to get above the cloud and fog at the peak, and relish the sunshine with a cup of tea and some Slovenian dish. And of course, see the the old church with it's impressive frescos.
  • This is THE place in Ljubljana for people to hike on. It's pretty close to the city so it's almost always busy. There are many ways to climb to the top. We started from the south side where there is a paved parking lot. Then just follow the signs up. Takes about 35 minutes if you're going at a normal pace. Once you're at the top you have views of the whole Ljubljana valley and Julian Alps including Triglav. There is a restaurant on top with food and drinks to take away and sit and enjoy the view. Bathrooms available.
