Established in the 18th century, National and University Library remains one of the most important cultural institutions in the country. Centrally located in the capital city, the building was designed by noted architect Joze Plecnik and represents one of his greatest achievements. Inside, the collection includes well over a million books, thousands of important manuscripts, visual and multimedia resources, periodicals, and other texts.   • Extremely welcoming staff with heartwarming hospitality. Mostly come here to study, but would recommend it to turists interested in architecture and/or occasional exhibitions of establish Slovenian artists and other women/men of importance.
  • If you aren't a student you must pay 15 euro to be able to sit inside and ready. Not worth it and the guard is rude.
