Dating back to the 16th century, Olimje Monastery is now a Franciscan monastery. Damaged by a 1970s earthquake, the castle was renovated thanks to national and parish funds, and was turned over to Franciscans in 1990. Both tourists and pilgrims visit, and the Franciscans also run an herbal apothecary on site. There is no entry fee, but donations are welcome.   • Nice castle from the outside, inside one of the oldest pharmacies in Europe, but just a room. Small shops (one in the entrance and one in the pharmacy). The best thing to see was the herb garden and.....  more »
  • Take a walk around with many herbs. Go in the castle and buy some pharmacy products from the oldest pharmacy.  more »
  • Beautiful and well preserved. Very interesting historical pharmacology background and the church is really breathtaking. The herbs garden is also a must see.
