  • Ideal for a meditation retirement
  • Built in the German Renaissance style, Ajman Castle was constructed in the 17th century. The altar painting in the castle chapel, painted by Franc Jelovšek the most well-known Baroque painter of frescos in Slovenia, is particularly valuable. Ajman Castle, which was damaged by fire during World War II, was thoroughly renovated by the Ursulines, who transformed it into an Ursuline convent. In recent decades it became 'Hiša kruha' (House of Bread), where the Ursulines carried out spiritual programmes and hosted groups and individuals seeking peace and quiet.
