Skofja Loka works great as a starting point for explorations into the Julian Alps, very near the country's capital Ljubljana.

Start off your visit on the 19th (Sun): get engrossed in the history at Prešeren House, admire the local landmark of Plečnik's Arcade & Fountain, step into the grandiose world of Škofja Loka Castle, then make a trip to Homan House, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Jacob Church, and finally take in the views from Capuchin Bridge.
