Ljubljana to Tolmin is an approximately 2-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or take a train. Traveling from Ljubljana in December, things will get somewhat warmer in Tolmin: highs are around 13°C and lows about 3°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Sun) so you can drive back home.
