Ljubljana — 4 nights

Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.Get out of town with these interesting Ljubljana side-trips: Bled (Bled Island, Zipline, &more), Postojna (Postojna Cave & Predjama Castle) and Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje). There's still lots to do: stop by Ljubljana Old Town, explore the activities along Ljubljanica River, have fun and explore at House of Illusions, and step into the grandiose world of Ljubljana Castle.

Rome, Italy to Ljubljana is an approximately 4-hour combination of flight and shuttle. You can also drive; or fly. Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.On the 6th (Sun), stroll around Park Pietro Coppo, then awaken your taste buds at some of the top wineries in the area, then explore the fascinating underground world of Škocjan Caves, and finally learn about all things military at Military Museum Tabor.
