Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Venture out of the city with trips to Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje), Bled (Straža Bled, Bled Castle, &more) and Predjama Castle (in Postojna). There's still lots to do: wander the streets of Ljubljana Old Town, take in the views from Butcher's Bridge, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral of St. Nicholas, and explore the historical opulence of Ljubljana Castle.

Prague, Czech Republic to Ljubljana is an approximately 6-hour shuttle ride. You can also do a combination of flight and shuttle; or drive. Expect a daytime high around 32°C in July, and nighttime lows around 17°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Mon) to allow time to drive to Piran.

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Kick off your visit on the 20th (Tue): see the interesting displays at Magical World of Shells Museum, then take in the waterfront at Port Piran, then explore the fascinating underground world of Škocjan Caves, and finally look for all kinds of wild species at Škocjanski Zatok Nature Reserve.
