Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Ljubljana: Wine Tours & Tastings (in Vipava), Bled (Straža Bled, Bled Castle, &more) and Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje). Naples, Italy to Ljubljana is an approximately 4.5-hour combination of flight and shuttle. You can also do a combination of train, flight, and shuttle; or drive. Prepare for little chillier weather when traveling from Naples in July: high temperatures in Ljubljana hover around 32°C and lows are around 17°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 1st (Sun) so you can go by car to Piran.

Piran

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Start off your visit on the 2nd (Mon): kick back and relax at Strunjan Nature Reserve, then Head underground at Škocjan Caves, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Škocjanski Zatok Nature Reserve. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: get a new perspective on nature at Magical World of Shells Museum, don't miss a visit to Port Piran, discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, then make a trip to Walls of Piran, then admire the landmark architecture of Benečanka Venetian House, and finally make a trip to Tartini Square.

Getting from Ljubljana to Piran by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect a bit warmer evenings in Piran when traveling from Ljubljana in August, with lows around 20°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Bohinjsko Jezero.
