Cycling may be one of the best ways to tour Maribor, a great base for exploring the surrounding area and conquering Pohorje Mountains.
Celje Castle and Franciscan Church will appeal to history buffs. Bring the kids along to Terme Čatež and Parish Church of St. George. Explore Maribor's surroundings by going to Ptuj (Church of St. George, Prešernova Street, &more), Prince's Palace (in Celje) and Aškerčev Square (in Laško). Next up on the itinerary: stroll through Mariborsko Pohorje Ski Resort, take in the spiritual surroundings of Žiče Charterhouse, delve into the distant past at Water Tower, and pause for some photo ops at Plague Column.
