Piran — 2 nights

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Piran: Postojna (Postojna Cave & The Secret Rooms of Hotel Jama) and Škocjan Caves (in Škocjan). There's lots more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Portorož Beach, indulge in some personalized pampering at Fish Spa Piran, tour the pleasant surroundings at Svetilnik Beach, and don't miss a visit to Tartini Square.

Ljubljana to Piran is an approximately 1.5-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from Ljubljana in July, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 21°C in Piran. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Kranjska Gora.
