Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Ljubljana: Bled (Straža Bled, Parasailing & Paragliding, &more), Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje) and Postojna (Postojna Cave & Predjama Castle). Next up on the itinerary: stop by Ljubljana Old Town, snap pictures at Dragon Bridge, take in panoramic vistas at Skyscraper (Neboticnik), and stroll around Tivoli Park.

Piran — 2 nights

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Start off your visit on the 7th (Thu): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower, Head underground at Škocjan Caves, and then do a tasting at Boris Lisjak Winery. On the 8th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: make a trip to Walls of Piran, see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, then see the interesting displays at Magical World of Shells Museum, and finally don't miss a visit to Tartini Square.

Drive from Ljubljana to Piran in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from Ljubljana in July, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 21°C in Piran. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Fri) early enough to drive to Bovec.

Bovec — 2 nights

In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Sat): whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, then add some adventure to your tour with a kayaking and canoeing tour, and then indulge your thirst for a good beer at Thirsty River Brewing. Here are some ideas for day two: identify plant and animal life at Vršič Pass, then take in the dramatic scenery at Kozjak Waterfall, and then explore the activities along Soča Valley.

Bohinjsko Jezero — 1 night

The mirror-like waters of the largest glacial lake in Slovenia make Bohinjsko Jezero one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.
Kick off your visit on the 11th (Mon): take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Planina Zajamniki, admire the sheer force of Savica Waterfall, then stroll through Vogel, and finally contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Bohinj.
