A resort town on the country's scenic Adriatic coastline, Portoroz offers many spas with all kinds of therapeutic treatments, many based on the brine and mud from the area's salt pans.
Start off your visit on the 11th (Mon): examine the collection at Izolana - House of the Sea, then relax in the rural setting at Fonda Fish Farm, then enjoy the sand and surf at Strunjan Nature Reserve, and finally make a trip to Tartini Square.

Traveling by car from Ljubljana to Portorož takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from Ljubljana in July, expect a bit warmer with lows of 20°C in Portorož. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Bovec.

In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
