In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
Get outdoors at Zipline and Virje Waterfall. When in Bovec, make a side trip to see Tolmin Gorge in Tolmin, approximately Tolmin away. There's lots more to do: trek along Krampež Waterfall, take in the dramatic scenery at Kozjak Waterfall, get a new perspective on things with Boat Tours & Water Sports, and identify plant and animal life at Koseč Gorges.

Drive from Kranjska Gora to Bovec in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In October, daytime highs in Bovec are 16°C, while nighttime lows are 6°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Wed) to allow time to drive to Piran.

Piran

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Relax by the water at Portorož Beach and Strunjan Nature Reserve. Take a break from the city and head to Škocjan Caves and Scuba & Snorkeling. There's lots more to do: stroll around Sečovlje Salina Nature Park, engage your brain at Magical World of Shells Museum, make a trip to Walls of Piran, and take a leisurely stroll along Port Piran.

Traveling by car from Bovec to Piran takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a bus. In October, Piran is a bit warmer than Bovec - with highs of 22°C and lows of 12°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Bled.

Bled

The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
Get outdoors at Triglav National Park and Vintgar Gorge. Step out of Bled with an excursion to Peričnik Falls in Mojstrana--about 36 minutes away.
