Get out of town with these interesting Ljubljana side-trips: Litija (Bogenšperk Castle & Adventure Park Geoss) and Postojna (Postojna Cave, Guštarna, &more). There's much more to do: step into the grandiose world of Ljubljana Castle, stroll around Tivoli Park, take in the spiritual surroundings of Franciscan Church of the Annunciation, and snap pictures at Triple Bridge.

Trieste, Italy to Ljubljana is an approximately 1-hour shuttle ride. You can also drive; or take a bus. Plan for little chillier temperatures traveling from Trieste in December, with highs in Ljubljana at 5°C and lows at -3°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sun) to allow time to drive to Škofja Loka.

The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
You've now added Lake Bled to your itinerary. On the 3rd (Mon), explore the activities along Lake Bohinj, admire the sheer force of Savica Waterfall, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Vogel, then pause for some serene contemplation at Church of St John the Baptist, and finally contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Bled.
