Piran

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Venture out of the city with trips to Reservoir Dogs brewery (in Nova Gorica), Kojsko (Sabotin Park Miru & Šmartno) and Škocjan Caves (in Škocjan). There's still lots to do: make a trip to Tartini Square, stroll around Forma Viva, admire the landmark architecture of Benečanka Venetian House, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. George's Church.

Traveling by car from Ljubljana to Piran takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from Ljubljana in September, expect Piran to be somewhat warmer, temps between 28°C and 17°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Mon) so you can drive to Bled.

Bled

The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
Venture out of the city with trips to Bohinjsko Jezero (Vogel, Lake Bohinj, &more), Ajdovska Deklica (in Kranjska Gora) and Bovec (Zipline & Soča Valley). Spend the 21st (Tue) exploring nature at Triglav National Park.
