Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Tartini Square and St. George's Church. Next up on the itinerary: make a trip to Walls of Piran, choose your vessel at Rent a Boat Portoroz, admire the striking features of Praetorian Palace, and enjoy the sand and surf at Portorož Beach.

You can drive from Ljubljana to Piran in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus.
