Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Step out of the city life by going to Triglav National Park and Nature & Wildlife Tours. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Parasailing & Paragliding and Tivoli Park. Explore Ljubljana's surroundings by going to Bled (Bled Castle, Zipline, &more) and Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje). Dusseldorf, Germany to Ljubljana is an approximately 6-hour combination of flight and shuttle. You can also drive; or do a combination of flight and train. Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Step out of the city life by going to Portorož Beach and Zusterna Beach. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Strunjan Nature Reserve and Svetilnik Beach. Change things up with a short trip to Škocjan Caves in Škocjan (about 44 minutes away). Next up on the itinerary: make a trip to Tartini Square, explore the engaging exhibits at Magical World of Shells Museum, discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and take in the spiritual surroundings of St. George's Church.

Bohinjsko Jezero

The mirror-like waters of the largest glacial lake in Slovenia make Bohinjsko Jezero one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.
Start off your visit on the 19th (Sun): take in the dramatic scenery at Mostnica Gorge, then admire the sheer force of Savica Waterfall, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Vogel, and finally contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Bohinj.

In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
Explore hidden gems such as Vršič Pass and Kozjak Waterfall. Escape the urban bustle at Soča Valley and Virje Waterfall. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bovec: Kranjska Gora (Zgornjesavska Valley & Lake Jasna) and Tolmin Gorge (in Tolmin).
