A resort town on the country's scenic Adriatic coastline, Portoroz offers many spas with all kinds of therapeutic treatments, many based on the brine and mud from the area's salt pans.
Step off the beaten path and head to Strunjan Nature Reserve and Scuba & Snorkeling. Get in touch with nature at Svetilnik Beach and Škocjanski Zatok Nature Reserve. Step out of Portorož to go to Črni Kal and see Socerb Castle, which is approximately 40 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: contemplate the long history of Church of St. Maurus, admire the landmark architecture of Piazza Tito, view the masterpieces at Nika's Tiny House, and pause for some serene contemplation at Marija Snežne Church.

Getting from Bled to Portorož by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from Bled in July, Portorož is somewhat warmer at night with lows of 20°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 5th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
