Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Let the collections at Magical World of Shells Museum and National Gallery capture your imagination. Cankarjevo Nabrežje and Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower will appeal to history buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Ljubljana: Koper (St. Anne's Friary & Praetorian Palace), Piran (Port Piran, St Stephen's Church, &more) and Anthony's Shaft Mining Museum (in Idrija). The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
Popular historic sites such as Old Town Centre of Radovljica and St. Martin's Parish Church are in your itinerary. Kobarid Museum and St. Peter's Church are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Venture out of the city with trips to Virje Waterfall (in Bovec), Cheese Museum of Kobarid (in Kobarid) and Lake Bohinj (in Bohinjsko Jezero).
