You can drive from Ljubljana to Koper in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Ljubljana in February, things will get somewhat warmer in Koper: highs are around 13°C and lows about 3°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Fri) so you can go by car to Maribor.
