Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Change things up with a short trip to Škocjan Caves in Škocjan (about 44 minutes away). There's still lots to do: don't miss a visit to Tartini Square, examine the collection at Magical World of Shells Museum, stroll around Park Pietro Coppo, and see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour.
