Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Start off your visit on the 27th (Sun): take in the exciting artwork at Duka Gallery, don't miss a visit to Walls of Piran, enjoy the sand and surf at Portorož Beach, then see the interesting displays at The Museum of Underwater Activities, then get curious at Magical World of Shells Museum, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of St. George's Church. Cycling may be one of the best ways to tour Maribor, a great base for exploring the surrounding area and conquering Pohorje Mountains.
Kids will enjoy Velenje Beach and Franciscan Church. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Žiče Charterhouse and Maribor Regional Museum.
