Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Get out of town with these interesting Ljubljana side-trips: Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje), Postojna (Guštarna, Postojna Cave, &more) and Bled (Straža Bled, St. Martin's Parish Church, &more). There's lots more to do: wander the streets of Ljubljana Old Town, take in the views from Dragon Bridge, contemplate the waterfront views at Ljubljanica River, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Franciscan Church of the Annunciation.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Ljubljana is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. When traveling from Amsterdam in August, plan for somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Ljubljana: temperatures range from 31°C by day to 15°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Fri) early enough to drive to Koper.

A bridge between the Mediterranean and alpine regions of Slovenia, Koper is a small town with big appeal.
Explore Koper's surroundings by going to Museo Militare Di Pivka (in Pivka) and Predjama Castle (in Postojna).
