The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Bled Castle and Oplen House Museum. Visiting Vintgar Gorge and Bled Island will get you outdoors. Get out of town with these interesting Bled side-trips: Planica Valley (in Rateče), Lake Bohinj (in Bohinjsko Jezero) and Vršič Pass (in Kranjska Gora). Spend the 25th (Sun) exploring nature at Triglav National Park. There's lots more to do: fly like a bird with a parasailing or paragliding tour, whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, take in the dramatic scenery at Slap Grmečica, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Martin's Parish Church.

Lyon, France to Bled is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and shuttle; or drive. Traveling from Lyon in July, expect little chillier with lows of 17°C in Bled. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Wed) to allow enough time to take a train to Tolmin.

At the picturesque confluence of two rivers, Tolmin offers quick access to a range of exciting outdoor activities.
Escape the urban bustle at Zipline and Kayaking & Canoeing. Do some cultural sightseeing at RockVelo and Lepa Vida Boutique Winery. Step out of Tolmin with an excursion to Natural Bathing Place Lajšt in Spodnja Idrija--about 54 minutes away. The adventure continues: explore the activities along Soča Valley.

You can take a train from Bled to Tolmin in 1.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. Expect a bit warmer evenings in Tolmin when traveling from Bled in July, with lows around 20°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 31st (Sat) early enough to go by car to Piran.

Piran

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Step out of the city life by going to Strunjan Nature Reserve and Portorož Beach. Do some cultural sightseeing at Magical World of Shells Museum and Boris Lisjak Winery. Step out of Piran with an excursion to Škocjan Caves in Škocjan--about 44 minutes away. There's still lots to do: see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. George's Church, look for all kinds of wild species at Škocjanski Zatok Nature Reserve, and kick back and relax at Svetilnik Beach.

Drive from Tolmin to Piran in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. In July in Piran, expect temperatures between 35°C during the day and 21°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 3rd (Tue) early enough to go by car to Ljubljana.
