In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
Bring the kids along to Zipline and Soča Valley. Get out of town with these interesting Bovec side-trips: Outdoor Museum Kolovrat (muzej na prostem) (in Volče), Planica Valley (in Rateče) and Kranjska Gora (Zelenci Nature Reserve, Vršič Pass, &more). On the 5th (Fri), admire the sheer force of Savica Waterfall, take in the awesome beauty at Vogel, then fly like a bird with a parasailing or paragliding tour, and finally explore the activities along Lake Bohinj.

Koper — 3 nights

A bridge between the Mediterranean and alpine regions of Slovenia, Koper is a small town with big appeal.
Kids will enjoy Tartini Square and Magical World of Shells Museum. Step out of Koper with an excursion to Predjama Castle in Postojna--about 54 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: Head underground at Škocjan Caves, step into the grandiose world of Socerb Castle, don't miss a visit to Port Piran, and enjoy the sand and surf at Strunjan Nature Reserve.

Drive from Bohinjsko Jezero to Koper in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Traveling from Bohinjsko Jezero in August, things will get a bit warmer in Koper: highs are around 34°C and lows about 20°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 8th (Mon) so you can go by car to Ljubljana.

Traveling from Koper in August, things will get little chillier in Ljubljana: highs are around 31°C and lows about 15°C.
