Bovec — 3 nights

In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Kayaking & Canoeing and Soča Valley. Escape the urban bustle at Vršič Pass and Lake Jasna. Go for a jaunt from Bovec to Tolmin to see Tolmin Gorge about 48 minutes away. There's much more to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Virje Waterfall, admire the sheer force of Boka Waterfall, examine the collection at Kobarid Museum, and whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks.

Lyon, France to Bovec is an approximately 8.5-hour combination of flight, train, and car. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and car. Plan for slightly colder temperatures traveling from Lyon in June, with highs in Bovec at 26°C and lows at 13°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Bohinjsko Jezero.

The mirror-like waters of the largest glacial lake in Slovenia make Bohinjsko Jezero one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.
Kick off your visit on the 15th (Wed): take in the dramatic scenery at Mostnica Gorge, then take in the awesome beauty at Vogel, then fly like a bird with a parasailing or paragliding tour, and finally contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Bohinj.

A bridge between the Mediterranean and alpine regions of Slovenia, Koper is a small town with big appeal.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at St. George's Church and Predjama Castle. Step out of the city life by going to Škocjan Caves and Scuba & Snorkeling. There's still lots to do: experience rural life at Fonda Fish Farm, step into the grandiose world of Socerb Castle, make a trip to Tartini Square, and pause for some serene contemplation at Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower.

Plan for a bit warmer temperatures traveling from Bohinjsko Jezero in June, with highs in Koper at 32°C and lows at 18°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 18th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Ljubljana.
