Ljubljana Old Town and Bled Castle are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Ljubljana Castle and Bled Island. Lyon, France to Ljubljana is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and shuttle; or drive. Traveling from Lyon in August, expect a bit cooler with lows of 15°C in Ljubljana. Cap off your sightseeing on the 30th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Piran.

Piran — 3 nights

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Get some cultural insight at Magical World of Shells Museum and Socerb Castle. Visit Strunjan Nature Reserve and Portorož Beach for some beach relaxation. Change things up with a short trip to Škocjan Caves in Škocjan (about 44 minutes away). The adventure continues: discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, examine the collection at Izolana - House of the Sea, kick back and relax at Zusterna Beach, and stroll through Svetilnik Beach.
