The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
Step out of the city life by going to Bled Island and Lake Bohinj. Kids will appreciate attractions like Bled Castle and Zipline. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bled: Rateče (Planica Nordic Centre & Zipline & Planica Valley), Kranjska Gora (Nadiza, Vršič Pass, &more) and Bohinjsko Jezero (Museum of Alpine Dairy Farming, Savica Waterfall, &more). Spend the 11th (Fri) exploring nature at Triglav National Park. There's much more to do: get great views at Straža Bled, test your problem-solving skills at popular escape rooms, head outdoors with Mala Osojnica, and take in the awesome beauty at Viševnik.

Milan, Italy to Bled is an approximately 5-hour combination of flight and shuttle. You can also drive; or take a train. Prepare for a bit cooler weather when traveling from Milan in August: high temperatures in Bled hover around 31°C and lows are around 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Sat) so you can drive to Solčava.

Solčava — 2 nights

Visit Solcava to discover a region near the Austrian border where a drive down a panoramic road delivers some of the best views in Europe.
On the 13th (Sun), take in the dramatic scenery at Rinka Waterfall, tour the pleasant surroundings at Logar Valley Landscape Park, and then make a trip to Sveti Duh. On the 14th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: stop by Center Rinka, get great views at Solčava Panoramic Road, then appreciate the views at Robanov Kot, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St. Mary of the Snow.

You can drive from Bled to Solčava in 1.5 hours. Another option is to take a bus. In August in Solčava, expect temperatures between 31°C during the day and 15°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Tolmin.

At the picturesque confluence of two rivers, Tolmin offers quick access to a range of exciting outdoor activities.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Zipline and Soča Valley. Get outdoors at Kayaking & Canoeing and Vogel. Get out of town with these interesting Tolmin side-trips: Bovec (Ravelnik Open Air Museum, Canyoning & Rappelling Tours, &more) and Bohinjsko Jezero (Ukanc Military Cemetery & Golden Horn Fairyland). Drive from Solčava to Tolmin in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of bus and train. Traveling from Solčava in August, plan for somewhat warmer nights in Tolmin, with lows around 20°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 19th (Sat) early enough to go by car back home.
