Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Get out of town with these interesting Ljubljana side-trips: Postojna (Postojna Cave & Predjama Castle) and Cross Cave (in Grahovo). Spend the 30th (Fri) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Kick off your visit on the 3rd (Tue): stroll around Park Pietro Coppo, explore the fascinating underground world of Škocjan Caves, and then do a tasting at Vinakoper. On the next day, enjoy the sand and surf at Strunjan Nature Reserve, discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, then examine the collection at Magical World of Shells Museum, and finally make a trip to Tartini Square.

Traveling by car from Ljubljana to Piran takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus.
