Ljubljana — 1 night

Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Start off your visit on the 4th (Sat): stop by Ljubljana Old Town, then glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, and then stroll around Tivoli Park.

Hamburg, Germany to Ljubljana is an approximately 6.5-hour combination of flight and shuttle. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or drive. Traveling from Hamburg in June, you will find days in Ljubljana are a bit warmer (29°C), and nights are about the same (14°C). Step off the beaten path and head to Velika Planina and Gradisko Lake. Get out of town with these interesting Kamnik side-trips: Dobrna (Villa Ruzicka, The Parish Church of the Assumption of Mary, &more) and Atelje Skulj - Pottery Studio (in Kranj). There's still lots to do: explore the activities along Kamniška Bistrica Valley, walk around Volčji Potok Arboretum, pause for some serene contemplation at St Primoz Church, and explore the historical opulence of Zaprice Castle.
