Athens, Greece to Ljubljana is an approximately 7-hour combination of flight and shuttle. You can also fly; or drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 1 hour traveling from Athens to Ljubljana. Expect slightly colder temperatures when traveling from Athens in October; daily highs in Ljubljana reach 18°C and lows reach 6°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Piran.

Piran

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
On the 7th (Thu), experience rural life at Fonda Fish Farm, then Head underground at Škocjan Caves, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Škocjanski Zatok Nature Reserve. Keep things going the next day: discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, then make a trip to Walls of Piran, then get a new perspective on nature at Magical World of Shells Museum, and finally don't miss a visit to Tartini Square.

Traveling by car from Ljubljana to Piran takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. In October, Piran is a bit warmer than Ljubljana - with highs of 22°C and lows of 12°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Fri) to allow time to drive to Kobarid.

Kobarid

At the very heart of picturesque Soca Valley, Kobarid delivers some of the most stunning views of Slovenia's highest peaks, as well as a chance to enjoy some exciting alpine rivers.
Kick off your visit on the 9th (Sat): admire the verdant scenery at Soča Valley and then add some adventure to your tour with a kayaking and canoeing tour. On your second day here, examine the collection at Fort Kluže, then whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, and then take in breathtaking views at Virje Waterfall.

You can drive from Piran to Kobarid in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In October, Kobarid is slightly colder than Piran - with highs of 16°C and lows of 6°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Sun) so you can drive to Kranjska Gora.

Kranjska Gora

A trip to Kranjska Gora takes visitors to an area that represents a border point between Austria, Italy, and Slovenia.
Change things up with a short trip to Peričnik Falls in Mojstrana (about 36 minutes away). And it doesn't end there: identify plant and animal life at Vršič Pass, examine the collection at Slovenian Alpine Museum, fly down the slopes at Planica Nordic Centre & Zipline, and don't miss a visit to Tromeja -Triple border.
