In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
Get in touch with nature at Planica Valley and Mangart Saddle. Outdoor Museum Kolovrat (muzej na prostem) and Tolmin Castle will appeal to history buffs. Slovenska Bistrica is a town south of Maribor in eastern Slovenia. Start off your visit on the 27th (Mon): pause for some photo ops at Pragersko Railway Station, then see the interesting displays at Rogatec Open Air Museum, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Partovec Biotope. Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Visiting Peričnik Falls and Ljubljanica River will get you outdoors. Do some cultural sightseeing at Cathedral of St. Nicholas and Franciscan Church of the Annunciation. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Ljubljana: Natural Bathing Place Lajšt (in Spodnja Idrija), Anthony's Shaft Mining Museum (in Idrija) and Kržišnik Garden & Gallery (in Žiri).
