Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Family-friendly places like Tartini Square and Portorož Beach will thrill your kids. Venture out of the city with trips to Postojna (Postojna Cave & Predjama Castle), Lipica Stud Farm (in Lipica) and Škocjan Caves (in Škocjan). Next up on the itinerary: see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, kick back and relax at Strunjan Nature Reserve, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower, and walk around Park Pietro Coppo.
