Dusseldorf, Germany to Ljubljana is an approximately 6-hour combination of flight and shuttle. You can also drive; or do a combination of flight and train. In June in Ljubljana, expect temperatures between 29°C during the day and 14°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 10th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Velenje.

A resort town on the country's scenic Adriatic coastline, Portoroz offers many spas with all kinds of therapeutic treatments, many based on the brine and mud from the area's salt pans.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Strunjan Nature Reserve and Fonda Fish Farm. Visit Portorož Beach and Svetilnik Beach for some beach relaxation. Take a break from Portorož with a short trip to Škocjan Caves in Škocjan, about 36 minutes away. In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
Bring the kids along to Vršič Pass and Soča Valley. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bovec: Planica Valley (in Rateče) and Kranjska Gora (Tromeja -Triple border & Zelenci Nature Reserve). There's still lots to do: head outdoors with Outdoor Activities, take in the dramatic scenery at Virje Waterfall, paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour, and contemplate the waterfront views at Source of the Soča River.
