The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Lake Bohinj and Straža Bled. Get in touch with nature at Triglav National Park and Soča Valley. Get out of town with these interesting Bled side-trips: Bohinjsko Jezero (Church of St John the Baptist & Savica Waterfall), Church of St. Nicholas (in Spodnja Sorica) and Mostnica Gorge (in Stara Fužina). Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Kick off your visit on the 9th (Wed): don't miss a visit to Tartini Square, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. George's Church, examine the collection at Magical World of Shells Museum, then don't miss a visit to Walls of Piran, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Portorož Beach. Here are some ideas for day two: kick back and relax at Strunjan Nature Reserve, kick back and relax at Svetilnik Beach, then Head underground at Škocjan Caves, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Koper City Beach.

Traveling by car from Kranjska Gora to Piran takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of shuttle and bus; or do a combination of bus and train. Plan for a bit warmer temperatures traveling from Kranjska Gora in August, with highs in Piran at 34°C and lows at 20°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Thu) to allow enough time to drive to Ljubljana.
