Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.You'll get in some beach time at Portorož Beach and Strunjan Nature Reserve. Step off the beaten path and head to Magical World of Shells Museum and Zusterna Beach. Go for a jaunt from Piran to Škocjan to see Škocjan Caves about 44 minutes away. There's lots more to do: make a trip to Tartini Square, kick back and relax at Svetilnik Beach, discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. George's Church.
