Koper

A bridge between the Mediterranean and alpine regions of Slovenia, Koper is a small town with big appeal.
Venture out of the city with trips to Boris Lisjak Winery (in Dutovlje), Predjama Castle (in Postojna) and Winestronaut (in Ajdovščina). There's still lots to do: explore the fascinating underground world of Škocjan Caves, see the interesting displays at Sergej Mašera Maritime Museum, see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and get curious at Magical World of Shells Museum.

Lillers, France to Koper is an approximately 14-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of flight and car. Traveling from Lillers in July, expect Koper to be somewhat warmer, temps between 35°C and 20°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 4th (Sun) to allow time to drive to Ljubljana.
