Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Venture out of the city with trips to Škocjan Caves (in Škocjan), Boris Lisjak Winery (in Dutovlje) and Vinakras Sežana (in Sežana). There's much more to do: don't miss a visit to Tartini Square, see the interesting displays at Koper Regional Museum, walk around Park Pietro Coppo, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. George's Church.

Traveling by car from Kobarid to Piran takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Traveling from Kobarid in June, things will get somewhat warmer in Piran: highs are around 32°C and lows about 18°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 25th (Fri) so you can go by car to Ljubljana.

Ljubljana

Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Step out of Ljubljana to go to Postojna and see Predjama Castle, which is approximately 1 hour away. Spend the 28th (Mon) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour.
