Novo Mesto — 2 nights

Novo Mesto is the city on a bend of the Krka River in the City Municipality of Novo Mesto in southeastern Slovenia, close to the border with Croatia. Your inner history buff will appreciate Novo Mesto Cathedral and Brežice Castle. Get some cultural insight at Castle Brestanica and Raka Castle. Take a break from Novo Mesto with a short trip to Najger Repnica Wine Cave in Bizeljsko, about 54 minutes away. There's still lots to do: admire the natural beauty at Otočec Castle Park, steep yourself in history at Breg, take in the awesome beauty at Žumberak Mountains, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Franciscan Monastery.
