In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
Get in touch with nature at Kayaking & Canoeing and Vršič Pass. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Kobarid Museum and Church of St. Joseph. Step out of Bovec with an excursion to Tolmin Gorge in Tolmin--about 48 minutes away. Bern, Switzerland to Bovec is an approximately 8.5-hour car ride. You can also fly; or do a combination of train and car. In July, daily temperatures in Bovec can reach 29°C, while at night they dip to 15°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Bohinjsko Jezero.

Bohinjsko Jezero

The mirror-like waters of the largest glacial lake in Slovenia make Bohinjsko Jezero one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.
Start off your visit on the 5th (Wed): get the adrenaline pumping with Hike&Bike Slovenia, explore the activities along Lake Bohinj, and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Vogel. On the 6th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: admire the sheer force of Savica Waterfall and then enjoy the sand and surf at Natural Bathing Place Lajšt.

Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Step out of the city life by going to Vintgar Gorge and Parasailing & Paragliding. Do some cultural sightseeing at Cathedral of St. Nicholas and Ljubljana Old Town. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Ljubljana: Old Town Centre of Radovljica (in Radovljica) and Bled (St. Martin's Parish Church, Galerija Mikame, &more). Spend the 10th (Mon) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's still lots to do: explore the historical opulence of Ljubljana Castle.

Traveling by car from Bohinjsko Jezero to Ljubljana takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of bus and train. In August, plan for daily highs up to 31°C, and evening lows to 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Piran.

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at St. George's Church and Tartini's House. Head to Nika's Tiny House and Manzioli Squarefor some retail therapy. Go for a jaunt from Piran to Škocjan to see Škocjan Caves about 44 minutes away. There's still lots to do: engage your brain at Magical World of Shells Museum, enjoy the sand and surf at Portorož Beach, make a trip to Tartini Square, and admire the landmark architecture of Praetorian Palace.
