Portorož — 3 nights

A resort town on the country's scenic Adriatic coastline, Portoroz offers many spas with all kinds of therapeutic treatments, many based on the brine and mud from the area's salt pans.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Portorož Beach and Strunjan Nature Reserve. Step off the beaten path and head to Magical World of Shells Museum and Walls of Piran. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Portorož: Škocjan Caves (in Škocjan) and Socerb Castle (in Črni Kal). And it doesn't end there: don't miss a visit to Tartini Square, examine the collection at Izolana - House of the Sea, ponder the design of Da Ponte Fountain, and take in the waterfront at Port Piran.

Barcelona, Spain to Portorož is an approximately 8-hour combination of flight and shuttle. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and shuttle. Traveling from Barcelona in August, expect a bit cooler with lows of 20°C in Portorož. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Sun) to allow time to drive to Bovec.

In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Tolmin Gorge and Vršič Pass. Kids will enjoy Zipline and Kayaking & Canoeing. Change things up with a short trip to Lake Jasna in Kranjska Gora (about 1h 5 min away). The mirror-like waters of the largest glacial lake in Slovenia make Bohinjsko Jezero one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.
Start off your visit on the 26th (Fri): admire the sheer force of Mostnica Gorge, take in the awesome beauty at Vogel, and then get great views at Prsivec.
