Portorož — 3 nights

A resort town on the country's scenic Adriatic coastline, Portoroz offers many spas with all kinds of therapeutic treatments, many based on the brine and mud from the area's salt pans.
Step out of the city life by going to Scuba & Snorkeling and Portorož Beach. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Magical World of Shells Museum and LifeClass Terme & Wellness. There's still lots to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Parish Church of the Virgin Mary of the Rosary, make a trip to Parenzana, see the interesting displays at Izolana - House of the Sea, and take in the spiritual surroundings of St. George's Church.

Leipzig, Germany to Portorož is an approximately 9-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. Traveling from Leipzig in May, expect Portorož to be a bit warmer, temps between 26°C and 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Tue) to allow time to drive to Novo Mesto.

Novo Mesto — 3 nights

Novo Mesto is the city on a bend of the Krka River in the City Municipality of Novo Mesto in southeastern Slovenia, close to the border with Croatia. Escape the urban bustle at Otočec Castle Park and Krka River. Step off the beaten path and head to Golf Grad Otočec and Franciscan Monastery. There's still lots to do: take in the awesome beauty at Žumberak Mountains, get a sense of history and politics at Mestna hisa - Rotovz, snap pictures at Kandija Bridge, and steep yourself in history at Breg.

Traveling by car from Portorož to Novo Mesto takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus; or do a combination of bus and train. May in Novo Mesto sees daily highs of 25°C and lows of 11°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Fri) to allow enough time to drive to Bled.

Bled — 6 nights

The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
Step off the beaten path and head to Mala Osojnica and St. Martin's Parish Church. Take a break from the city and head to Peričnik Falls and Viševnik. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bled: Bohinjsko Jezero (Vogel & Lake Bohinj), Mostnica Gorge (in Stara Fužina) and Kranjska Gora (Lake Jasna & Vršič Pass). Spend the 14th (Sat) exploring nature at Triglav National Park. There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Old Town Centre of Radovljica, identify plant and animal life at Pokljuka Plateau, get outside with Outdoor Activities, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Straža Bled.
