Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Spend the 20th (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Spend the 15th (Mon) on a tasty journey with a beer tour and tasting. Brussels, Belgium to Ljubljana is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Brussels in August: highs in Ljubljana hover around 31°C, while lows dip to 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Sun) so you can drive to Kočevje.

Kočevje — 2 nights

Together with the Krokar primeval forest, which is inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Kočevje Region makes for a truly mystical forest landscape.
Kick off your visit on the 22nd (Mon): examine the collection at Kočevje Regional Museum in Šeškov House, then explore the activities along Kolpa River, and then take in the dramatic natural features at Veliki Rog. On the next day, pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Saint Stephen, examine the collection at Public Institute Ribnica Handicraft Centre, and then delve into the lush surroundings at Krokar Primeval Forest.

You can drive from Ljubljana to Kočevje in 1.5 hours. Another option is to drive. Traveling from Ljubljana in August, expect Kočevje to be a bit warmer, temps between 35°C and 24°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Bled.

The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
Venture out of the city with trips to Kranjska Gora (The Russian Chapel, Vršič Pass, &more), Bovec (Soča Valley, Zipline, &more) and Bohinjsko Jezero (Vogel, Lake Bohinj, &more). Spend the 25th (Thu) exploring nature at Triglav National Park. And it doesn't end there: tour the pleasant surroundings at Vintgar Gorge, Head underground at Pokljuka Gorge, examine the collection at Kobarid Museum, and get great views at Mala Osojnica.

Traveling by car from Kočevje to Bled takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In August, Bled is slightly colder than Kočevje - with highs of 31°C and lows of 15°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 31st (Wed) so you can catch the flight back home.
