Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Get outdoors at Postojna Cave and Vintgar Gorge. Ljubljana Castle and City Museum of Ljubljana will appeal to history buffs. Venture out of the city with trips to Museum of Hostages (in Begunje na Gorenjskem) and Bled (Bled Castle, Straža Bled, &more). There's still lots to do: wander the streets of Ljubljana Old Town, head outdoors with Outdoor Activities, stroll around Tivoli Park, and take in the views from Triple Bridge.

Koper

A bridge between the Mediterranean and alpine regions of Slovenia, Koper is a small town with big appeal.
Take a break from the city and head to Strunjan Nature Reserve and Portorož Beach. Kids will appreciate attractions like Nika's Tiny House and Scuba & Snorkeling. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Koper: Lipica Stud Farm (in Lipica) and Predjama Castle (in Postojna). There's lots more to do: Head underground at Škocjan Caves, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. George's Church, and admire the striking features of Praetorian Palace.
