Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Venture out of the city with trips to Bled (Triglav National Park, Bled Island, &more), Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje) and Postojna (Planina Cave & Postojna Cave). Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Get out of town with these interesting Piran side-trips: Škocjan Caves (in Škocjan) and Military Museum Tabor (in Lokev). There's much more to do: experience rural life at Fonda Fish Farm, get outside with Šalet Tunnel, enjoy the sand and surf at Strunjan Nature Reserve, and get a new perspective on nature at Magical World of Shells Museum.

You can drive from Ljubljana to Piran in 1.5 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from Ljubljana in June, expect a bit warmer with lows of 18°C in Piran. Cap off your sightseeing on the 26th (Sun) early enough to go by car to Bohinjsko Jezero.

The mirror-like waters of the largest glacial lake in Slovenia make Bohinjsko Jezero one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.
Kick off your visit on the 27th (Mon): admire the sheer force of Mostnica Gorge, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St John the Baptist, then fly like a bird with a parasailing or paragliding tour, and finally explore the activities along Lake Bohinj.
